The Mapping Layer: zero IT rip-and-replace

We know that updating existing pricing and quoting systems takes years. That is why Malcolm is designed to adapt to your technology, not the other way around.

You do not need to rebuild your pricing API or change your endpoints. The integration process is handled entirely within our Mapping Layer:

  1. Ingestion: You provide us access to your existing pricing endpoints (whether modern RESTful JSON, legacy XML, or SOAP).
  2. Translation: Our engineering team maps your specific product fields to the Malcolm Canonical Schema.
  3. Deployment: We wrap your pricing engine in our validation gateway.

To your internal IT systems, Malcolm simply looks like a highly structured, compliant quote source.

Our Compliance Engine

Existing systems cannot safely handle probabilistic AI outputs. If an LLM hallucinates a building material or assumes a coverage limit, it results in a compliance breach.

Malcolm ensures that raw LLM traffic never reaches your servers.

  • Every request is strictly validated against the canonical schema.
  • All Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is aggressively stripped before any AI inference occurs.
  • If a partner's AI agent attempts to pass an out-of-appetite risk or a hallucinated parameter, the request is blocked at our gateway.
  • Your API only ever receives 100% structured, validated, and compliant payloads.

Co-designing the Protocol (Founding Members)

We are actively expanding the protocol across new lines of business, including Motor, SME/Commercial, and Pet insurance.

For classes of business not yet active on the protocol, we partner with Tier-1 capacity providers to act as Founding Members. Founding Members work directly with Malcolm's engineering team to co-design the canonical data schema for that specific class, ensuring the industry standard naturally aligns with your underwriting strengths.
